A Fractal Ah Ha!

So - I was on my rebounder,
happily focused
up and down,
quiet in an awareness of the spaces in between
the pauses at the top and at the bottom
the moments when it all stops
the weight
the energy it takes to get it moving again
the energy it creates to keep it all moving
constantly changing and maintaining all at once simultaneously.
I reached out to answer the ringing phone.
A friend began sharing
a conversation she had that morning
with her running partner who manages her own private fund
talking about the effects on the market of the recent tsunami in Japan.
Partially attentive,
not exactly sure what I was hearing,
I kept listening,
knowing I could ask,
or follow along.
"Everything got very quiet for awhile,
almost stopped.
then there was this surge
then things began to level out
then they began again.”
Yes, I thought.
That is just how tsunamis are.
There is this pause in the ocean's breathe,
for the gathering.
Then the surge,
the leveling
the return.
Aside from my breathing,
the movement she described was also
my own fractal ah ha
punctuated by the realization that she was talking about the
financial tsunami
the one that resulted from the up and down movement of the platelets.
I was not surprised.
Just refreshed
in that remembrance of connectivity.
Generating our own movements,
thinking they are separate from
our own life breath
in and out of the flow of all that is doing the same around and through us
supporting it, mirroring it,
reflecting different parts,
different dances of the same music
in and out
up and down
building
gathering
surging
leveling
returning
My Fractal Ah Ha
Was hugging me, holding that precious remembrance
The gratitude
The smile
The joy of being so great a part of so much so much greater.

  1. Julia, I wrote to you but it didn't get posted. Perhaps I don't have a "google account" Hope it goes through this time.... What you wrote is BEAUTIFUL. You are an avid writer! I used to write poetry. Wish I could get back in touch with my creative side. It's sorely lacking. But back to YOU, I LOVE what you wrote! It's wonderful. I'd like to read it over because I'm sure I'm missed some of the meaning. Beautiful! Please share again when you get the opportunity. Much Love, your friend, Lynne

  2. I always have to at least read your posts twice to make sense of them. And that's a good thin! Word magic :-)

    Thanks for sharing, Julia.
